Val Roy Gerischer is a painter who lives and works on Cape Cod. He has shown his work at the Provincetown Art Association, The Cape Cod Art Center, The Cotuit Center for the Arts, and the Outsider Art Gallery. Val has a BA from Brigham Young University.
Gerischer employs computer software to create highly detailed and complex layered portraits and figures in surreal worlds. These pieces are then printed, drawn on, and painted to become something new.
His work is an exercise in liberation and exploration outside of commercial restraints. He worked commercially for the Franklin Mint, Boehm, Goebel, Gordon Frazier, and Lenox. He has won numerous awards for his work and has pieces in public and private collections throughout the United States.
